Our Vision:
The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview envisions a club of dedicated members, a community of engaged citizens, and a world of peaceful societies, where differences are valued, the less fortunate are served, and new generations are inspired to build a better tomorrow.
Our Mission:
Promoting the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self,” we pursue the alleviation of poverty, illiteracy, hunger and disease. We are committed to the highest standards of leadership and integrity in serving our local and world communities. We achieve the greatest impact through membership engagement, education, fellowship and fun.
Our Club:
In 2011, two Rotary clubs, Bloomingdale-FishHawk and Riverview merged to form the Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview. Attracted by the strong spirit of friendship and service, Rotarians from several other clubs transferred to FishHawk-Riverview and the club quickly began attracting new members from the local community. With a wide range of backgrounds, interests, resources and vocations, approximately 50 neighbors, friends and community leaders come together to create positive, lasting change, locally and around the world. The club reinforces a sense of community and fellowship, while Rotary International provides a global connection unlike any other organization. Dating back to the original club charter in 2002, the present-day Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview offers something for anyone committed to making the word a better place.
Since its inception in 2002, FishHawk-Riverview Rotary has been involved in numerous projects, including Rotary’s Camp Florida, High School Interact, College & Vocational Scholarships, Dictionary Distribution, The Rotary Foundation, Reading is Fundamental, Crawfish Festival, Lighted Boat Parade, Seminar For Tomorrow’s Leaders, Local Road Clean-up, Group Study Exchange, and Rotary Youth Exchange.
After Hours Satellite Meeting:
Noticing the need for an alternate meeting time for club members who cannot meet on Monday noon, the Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview launched a satellite After-Hours Rotary club in 2013. Meeting on Thursday nights at 5:00 pm, the After Hours satellite club offers an alternative, more casual, after-hours atmosphere. Satellite participants remain members of the FishHawk-Riverview Rotary Club, with the added flexibility of meeting at a time that better suits their availability.
