FishHawk-Riverview President

Shirley S. Bhat

Our incoming president has an extensive academic and community service background that spans over nineteen years. She holds Masters Degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice (earning Summa Cum Laude and President’s List honors throughout her educational journey) and she is currently pursuing a second Masters of Art in Marriage and Family Counseling. Shirley joined The Rotary Club of Fishhawk-Riverview in April 2017. Within few months she participated in the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce mayors race selecting C.A.R.T Coins for Alzheimer's Research Trust as her charity. With her efforts and our members contribution our club was able to contribute almost $10,000 to this cause. She

immediately took over as membership chair and with help of Ed Odom and Kimberly Tyson created our current membership folders and presentations. Within the same year she became Paul Harris fellow and today she is a Paul Harris plus one and a member of our Paul Harris Society. She is a graduate of Rotary Leadership Institute and has maintained perfect attendance until today. She has been part of our speech

contest, scholarship committee, boat parade, crawfish festival, dictionary program, and head start reading program with Bill Schwarz and his team. She also joined our international project team lead by Richard Lindstrom and Ed Odom to install latrine and clear water filter’s in Honduras in 2018. She has served her local community through the involvement with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, National Honor Societies, the National Organization for Human Services and the Florida Counsel Against Sexual Violence. She holds additional certifications in HIPAA privacy security and research training, advocacy core training, suicide prevention, collaborative institutional training, board member education,

student leadership and education for advocacy. She is a recent graduate of the inaugural class of Educate Hillsborough.

As a community activist, she is serving her community through involvement with The Greater Riverview Chambers of Commerce as an ambassador, Vice President of The Sheriff’s Indian Advisory Counsel, Vice President of The Riverview Woman’s Club, Board Chair of Kid’s Community College Charter Schools, Secretary of Rotary Camp FL, Secretary of Delta Kappa Lota Chapter Honor Society and Board Chair of Student Association in Marriage and Family Therapy at North Central University.

Beside her busy schedule she loves the title of a stay at home mom and spends as much time as possible

with her miracle baby Kaushal and Monster Child Aliya Bhat. She loves to take walks on the beach with Kiran Bhat, her husband of 15 years.  She enjoys studying with her furry baby Beethoven Bhat. 

Her hobbies include, gardening, scrap-booking, tennis, swimming, writing, painting and watching the rain with a hot cup of coffee and her husband by her side. She has her very own quote and absolutely believes in it.

Gabriel Mbulo

Gabriel joined the Rotary Club of Fishhawk-Riverview in April 2019 and immediately took on the role for our club service chair. Gabriel earned his masters of business administration from the University of Tampa. He has been in the financial service business for more than 22 years. Currently he is a financial advisor at Edward Jones Investments serving individual investors and businesses; focusing on solutions for business owners, executives, retirees and nonprofits. Gabriel serves on the board of the Spurlino YMCA and the Ruskin Firehouse Cultural Center. He is a member of Better Living for Seniors and

involved in local youth organizations. 

He is married with a daughter attending Pace University in New York who has a passion for the arts and a son who is a student athlete in his senior year in high school. He originally moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1992 and his family have lived and played in the Riverview community since 2004.

Immediate Past President

Jim (Jimbo) Everett

Jimbo was born in Lafayette, Indiana in 1950 to a very surprised mother and uncle. After being raised in Lafayette he joined the U.S. Army in 1968. He had basic training at Ft. Campbell, Ky. He re-enlisted in 1970 to go to Vietnam. He was assigned to the 173d Airborne Brigade at Bong Son, LZ English, Vietnam.

Jimbo met his wife, Marilyn, in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1977 and got married in 1979. When they relocated to Florida he worked for a pet cemetery doing sales and service work for 15 years. During this time he drove approximately 1.5 million miles with no accidents. Jimbo attended community college for 3 years emphasizing in electrical studies and worked as an electrician until he retired due to his health in 2009.

He joined the Newport, N.C. Rotary Club in 2007. He served as club President from 2011-2012. Jimbo relocated to Florida in 2012 and became members of FishHawk-Riverview in 2013. He serves as our current club president. He is a Paul Harris plus 1 and a graduate of Rotary Leadership Institute. He continued his Rotary education and graduated with Foundation Course in 2015. He has served as Club Administrative Chair from 2016-2018 where the speaker program was formed and it is continued until today. We are honored to have Jimbo in our club and proudly say that we have our very own Santa Clause.

Mara Shaughnessy

Mara Shaughnessy joined the Fishhawk-Riverview Rotary as a charter member in 2008 and has been successfully facilitating our after-hours club which meets every Thursday at 6pm. She is a Paul Harris plus 6, past president of our club and has participated in many club activities. She graduated from Barry University School of Law, Orlando, Florida with her juris doctorate in 2005. Mara founded Shaughnessy Law in 2006 with an emphasis on Family Law and Real Estate Law, but soon discovered that the needs of the community required an expansion of services. She recently became a Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator. She serves our local area as well as the surrounding community. She is actively involved with the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, and has a passion for traveling with her husband, Elijah Heath.

Marilyn Everett

Marilyn Everett  was born in Ohio, raised in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC, spent 12 years working in the photography field and then went on to work with youth with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in the state of Florida and retired in 2006. Currently fills time with computers, doing graphic work, web sites and data entry. Started Rotary in 1990 in Kissimmee, Florida and received first Paul Harris in 1995. Currently Marilyn is a Paul Harris +2. Graduate of RLI – 2010 RLI Graduate Course – Foundation – 2015 Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview 2013 to Present; Club President 2018-2019

Served as Attendance Secretary; Club Administrator; Club Secretary; Club Treasurer; Interact Club Advisor; Membership Advocate; and Club President twice.

Jackie Fields

 Jackie is born in Ft. Benning, Ga. Her both parents are decreased. She has one brother. Her family settled in Panama City, FL when Jackie was 6 years old. She moved to Enterprise, Alabama in 1966. Jackie has lived on Grand Bahama Island for 18 months. She moved back to Alabama where she opened 2 pizza restaurants and later a restaurant and night club. She relocated to Tampa FL in 1980 and went into real estate. She met her husband and got married in 1984. She started working in the Appraisal Department in 1999 and decided that she wanted to pursue appraising as her new career and became a Certified General Appraiser. She is a member of First Alliance Church of Lakeland where she is on the Diaconate Board. Jackie became a Rotarian in 2000. She has served as Treasurer and Secretary of Brandon South and have served Fishhawk Riverview Rotary as Secretary for the past 3 years. Currently Jackie is a Paul Harris Plus 2. She became a partner in Appraisal Services of Brandon, Inc. six years ago. They have 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. Her hobbies include working with the children at Church, beading, painting and crafting in general.

Mario Galvez

 Mario is currently owner and President of Lucidity Corp, a Datacenter and Network Engineering consulting firm. Originally from Guatemala, Mario has been in the US since 1975, when he relocated to Chicago, subsequently, attended the University of Illinois and has an MBA from Southeastern Nova University. He joined Rotary in 2018, is the currently Membership Chair and a S4TL Board member.  Mario is the proud father of William Alexander and enjoys camping, movies and long motorcycle trips with William. Mario spend over 10 years supporting the Boy Scout organization and is proud of having helped develop a number of young scouts.  An accomplished Sr. Executive with 20+ in the Data Communications, Telecommunications and Data Center industries. He has history developing strong organizations and individuals that can support a corporation for the long term strategy and enjoys helping young professionals develop their careers.

Jerry Harburg

 Jerry born in May of 1962, joins us from Williamsport PA. He is a graduate of Brandon High School. He is employed with A-fabco Inc. since 1978 and president of A-fabco, Inc. since 2000, a Radiation Shielding manufacturer with annual sales of approximately 6 million. He served as president of the Ruskin Apollo Beach Rotary Club from 2001-2003 which later changed it’s name to the South Shore Rotary Club that helped sponsor the old Riverview Rotary Club. Currently Jerry is a Paul Harris Fellow. He has held numerous Church council positions at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Riverview since 1997 that includes being president from 2013-2016. Jerry also served as the President of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce in 2006. He served as a supervisory Committee Member for Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union from 2006-2013 and is a director of Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union since 2013 to present. He was also the Chairman of the Board Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union from 2016-2019. He is a vice President Accelerator Door Corporation and Vice President of T-fabco, Inc. He is married to Kelly Bosworth Harburg and together they have three Girls, Kaitlyn 27, Hannah 18, Hallie 14, & Sam 4 year old Boxer. His hobbies include Surfing, Fishing, boating, reading, & concerts. He works hard to provide for and protect his family, and he strives to do the right thing in all his endeavors… His only problem is that he says he is a “human”. been at it, and what got them to where they are.

Christopher Jones

 Christopher joined Rotary in 2009. He is one of our past presidents, past assistant district governor, Paul Harris plus one and one of the Benefactors from our Club. Christopher has successfully managed our dictionary program that has benefited more than 25,000 students until today. He has been highly involved in our youth programs. Christopher has hosted one of our international students, managed and facilitated interact clubs at our local high school, chaired and co-chaired some of the biggest events of our club. During his presidency Christopher managed to make our club 100 percent Paul Harris fellow

Christine Ans

 Club Public Relations Chair: Christine Ans Since joining the Fishhawk-Riverview Rotary as a charter member in 2008, Christine has served the Club as President, membership chair, chair-person and co-chair for Crawfish Festival, as well as District 6890   Secretary for 2 terms, including chairing and served on the board of Rotary Camp Florida, as well as chairperson for the District 6890 project for 2015.  Christine is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and recipient club and district awards. Christine has most recently joined the board of IHOPEE, a 501c3, engaged in the club activities and the local area.  After graduating from Sweet Briar College, Christine worked for 2 think tanks in Washington DC and later for US State Department, as assistant to Ambassador in US Embassy, Riga, Latvia. After returning stateside in 2004, she assisted both children through swim team and successfully out of the house, to successful careers in the military and Dept. of Defense.  Now, Christine is a successful real estate agent with Keller Williams, Suburban Tampa and divides her time up between visiting her children in Virginia and her mother in Naples, FL.  She looks forward to the challenge of ensuring Fishhawk-Riverview can attract and engage the members needed to meet Rotary’s mission globally, in our communities and in ourselves through her position as Public Relations chairperson.

Daniel Cyral Gordon

 Daniel Cyral Gordon was born in Michigan in 1980. Growing up with parents as teachers, he used to spend his whole summer in Northern Michigan. Moving to Florida in 2010, he moved his hypnosis practice to the Orlando Area. In 2018 he opened his current practice, Hypnotic Engagements LLC, in Riverview, FL. Daniel joined our club in January of 2020 and immediately wowed us all with his charming personality. With a passion for being active in the community, Daniel serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce and as the 2020 Honorary Mayor. Dan (or Daniel) has always had a special place in his heart for Rotary.

Michael Broussard

  

Michael has been married to Tammy Broussard for 25 years and he has 2 beautiful daughters, Michaela and Paris. He lives with two fur babies, Nico, a German Shepherd and Max, a rescue Beagle.  He has been involved in Rotary for 9 years and he says it’s his way of giving back for all he been blessed with.  Michael served as President in the year 2017-2018 and is currently serving as Assistant Governor for the next 3 years. He states, “I love Rotary, and I’m humbled and blessed to participate in their vision and missions.”  He is also currently serving on the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2019 – 2021.  He is deeply committed to serving in his neighborhood, across the street and around the world.  He loves being on the water and fishing as often as possible!

District 6890 Governor Elect

Deborah L. Williams

  

The DGND that was selected is Deborah L. Williams, from the Rotary Club of FishHawk Riverview. She was immediately asked to move forward one year and serve as DGN. And to her enormous credit, three days after being selected, Deborah had her bags packed and arrived in Atlanta, Georgia for the Zone 33/34 Leadership Summit and District Governor Training. She was immediately embraced by her District Governor Nominee Classmates from both zones and made fast friends, which she will no doubt cherish for a lifetime. As the DGN, Deborah serves as a Board Member of Rotary Camp Florida 2019-2020.

Deborah is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Law Enforcement and Corrections and also a Masters of Science degree in Administration of Criminal Justice. She is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College of Military Science and Armed Forced College. She served in the United States Army and retired in 2005 with the highest honors and distinction after 27 years of service.

After moving to Florida, Deborah owned a business called Bellafia Chocolate Boutique and now is in direct sales with Jewels by Park Lane, Inc. She has been very active in the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, her church Rivers of Life and many other community organizations including the Winthrop and Bloomingdale Area Council and the Black Women Business Owners, Executives and Entrepreneurs, who bestowed the honor of Business Woman of the Year on Deborah in 2009.

Deborah became a Rotarian in 2007 and became a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-FishHawk in 2008. She served as the club President in 2009-2010 but, approximately 2 years later the RC of Bloomingdale-FishHawk merged with the RC of Riverview. A new club emerged as the Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview and Deborah has served in many capacities with her club including Service Project Chair, active with S4TL and initiated an Annual Veteran’s Day Celebration Program. She is a graduate of Rotary Leadership Institute and has also served the District as Assistant Governor for four years. She has been recognized as Rotarian of the Year by her club and led the Strategic Planning Committee for the District in 2017-2018. She was also recognized as Assistant Governor of the Year in 2018-2019. 

Deborah is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Major Donor and a Paul Harris Society Member. Her club knows Deborah as someone that never says no and will do anything for Rotary and her fellow Rotarians. 

She is married to husband Duane who is also a member and past president of the Rotary Club of FishHawk Riverview. Duane is a retired Military Intelligence officer and was self-employed with  D & T Associates-Investigations, a private investigative company, which he started in 2005.

Deborah loves sports (NCAA/NFL), interior decorating/crafts, event coordinating/planning and mentorship for children and young adults as well as caring for seniors. She is humbled and blessed in so many ways by becoming a first time grandmother to a precious granddaughter.
