Due to the constant rise of Covid cases in Florida, we have had to postpone or cancel many of our special events. The Luncheon for the honor of our Veterans, our Annual Alafia Boat Parade, our Crawfish Festival, and many of our youth programs have all been placed on hold or are cancelled for this year
Each year we have a luncheon to honor those who served our country including retired and active veterans. The luncheon is Free to all veterans. All others, family and non-veterans cost is $25.00 per person. Anyone may sponsor one or more veterans at $25 each. We have school color guard, a POW-MIA ceremony, and a guest speaker.
Last year's event was held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at The Chateau at 1903 E State Road 60, Valrico, FL 33594.

The first Alafia Lighted Boat Parade was held in Riverview in 1984, featuring a celebration of the holiday season and a parade of brightly decorated boats. Previously hosted by the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, the event has been presented by the Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview since 2008. The parade for 2020 will include a collaboration between The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview and Hillsborough County Parks.
Traditionally occurring on the first Saturday in December, the Alafia Lighted Boat Parade has evolved to take various forms. This year’s parade will start at Williams Park and will conclude at River’s Edge for awards and a special VIP party.
Anyone interested in entering their boat in the parade is encouraged to do so by contacting Mike Broussard at michael@broussard.net. You may also register your boat at alafiaboatparade.com. Entry Fee is $25.00 donation. Any boat is invited to attend, however, only registered boats are eligible for prizes. Multiple sponsorship opportunities are available as well and, as always, 100% of proceeds will support the charitable activities of the Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview and Hillsborough County. Crawfish is brought fresh, straight from Louisiana. Crawfish dinners include approximately 2 lbs. of crawfish with sides (corn and potatoes). There are Cajun favorites such as jambalaya and étouffée available, along with plenty of other treats. We also have an ample supply of soda and beer.
First held in 2011, the Annual Crawfish Festival is, by far, FishHawk-Riverview Rotary’s largest fundraiser and best attended event of the year. Held every spring, the festival features crawfish dinners and other Cajun fare, as well as music and community and business exhibitors from throughout the area. Each year this event grows in attendance and participants. Why not plan on being a part of our next year’s event by getting involved. There are many ways to participate such as being a sponsor, volunteering, giving a donation, and more.
All money raised is donated to local scholarship funds and other charities.
Our Crawfish Festival is cancelled for this year, 2020
